Remember and Resist: Borders, Solidarity and the Essex 39 is a day of talks and workshops exploring the violence of borders and global capitalism, following the deaths of 39 Vietnamese migrants in a lorry in Essex.
Four months on, join us to remember the Essex 39 and all those who have lost their lives at the hands of violent border regimes, and to resist the hostile environment and racist immigration policies. We will examine migrant workers’ struggles, discuss connections between borders, the state, and global capitalism, and explore how we can act in solidarity with some of the most directly affected communities.
