Ellen studied law and gained experience working in asylum and immigration firms in Scotland before she started work at JCWI in 2016 She is an IASS level 2 accredited caseworker and trainee solicitor, supervised by Nicola Burgess. She has developed her practice in a wide range of areas including asylum, applications under the immigration rules , challenges to deportation,  EEA applications. She has an interest in complex medical cases and bringing judicial review challenges against unlawful  decision making and detention.
