The applicant has to pass an English language test, unless they are a national of:
Antigua and Barbuda;
Australia;
The Bahamas;
Barbados;
Belize;
Canada;
Dominica;
Grenada;
Guyana;
Jamaica;
New Zealand;
St Kitts and Nevis;
St Lucia;
St Vincent and the Grenadines;
Trinidad and Tobago;
The United States of America
Applicants are also exempt from passing the English test if they have a post-graduate qualification in a course completed in English. You’ll have to apply to an organisation called UK NARIC to get them to certify that the qualification is equivalent to a UK Bachelor, Masters or PhD – you can see all the details, including prices, here
