But thousands of members of the Windrush generation are still waiting for the money they are owed by this government, after its policies saw them lose their jobs and homes or even wrongfully detained them.<br \/>\nDelays and mismanagement of the Windrush compensation scheme mean that by the end of November, just \u00a32.2m had been paid out to 226 claimants, from a compensation pot originally expected to pay out more than \u00a3200m to as many as 15,000 people. That\u2019s not good enough.<br \/>\nThe scheme is too slow, too complex and too meagre to truly compensate people for the loss they\u2019ve suffered.
