NHS staff and care workers have kept this country going through the Covid-19 crisis. We have seen just how essential their work is. But those from overseas are asked to pay astronomical fees just to carry on living and working here – on top of paying taxes, like British nationals. Those fees include the NHS surcharge. It is unthinkable that NHS staff, care workers and other key workers are being taxed twice.  A simple way the country can show its appreciation for the hard work of those on the front line of this crisis is to scrap the NHS surcharge.
